McKownville Fire Department

Since 1918, the volunteer members of McKownville Fire Department have provided fire prevention, protection, and other rescue services to the residents of the McKownville Fire District and surrounding neighborhoods in the Town of Guilderland and beyond. Places of note in the McKownville Fire District include all of Stuyvesant Plaza and Executive Park, the Woodscape housing development, and 45% of the University at Albany uptown campus including Indigenous Quad, Casey Stadium, and Broadview Arena.

The McKownville Volunteer Fire Department responds around 275 calls per year, including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, hazardous conditions like downed tree and utility wires, basement pump outs, and other rescues. We’re here for you in your time of need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.

Looking for more information about our new proposed firehouse? We are collecting questions from our neighbors and answering them over on our new building project webpage.
